My Title Sequence - Final Assignment

This is the title sequence for the film "the cabinet of dr. Caligari" that i did for my final assignment. Although the mood of this flash does not really match with the movie, i still like it.

I suddenly found this clip in Youtube when i searched one of my song. This clip, i think, is created by paper (it's look like this) and animation. You can find that this clip is very interesting because it looks like a small movie and we will think that all the character are real person.

TutorialOutpost is an amazing website that i found in the internet. It includes many tutorials for Photoshop, 3D Studio Max, Illustrator and Flash. Although the interface is not nice but you can find many helpful subject in there such as how to create buttons, action scrip for flash and some tricks for 3D. Get more tips when you come here.

Walt Disney Toon Tip

This movie is a short TV show in Disney Channel about how to draw quickly a character in paper, in this movie is American Jake Long. I like this the way that the animator draw the character because it has the depth inside. Actually, we can see the 3D emotion in it. Another point is that the artist make their drawing with the exact ration between the parts of the body. With only using sketching, the artist can draw the 3D emotion for the character and more easier to draw.

Shrek The Third

This is the trailer for Shrek 3, an 3D animation cartoon movies. I'm very impressive at the first time when i saw the first movie in 2001 by the way the animators created the building, sightseeing and character. All of these elements are nearly the real objects. Another interesting thing of Shrek is the sound track; it's very good and full of mood. I hope Shrek 3 can reach the success again like Shrek 1.

Photoshop tutorial excercise

This is my final picture after i did my photoshop tutorial. Actually, the picture is different from the example. I got the problem from using lassoing tools and the brush tool. I can't get the match with the original but i still like this image. It is in an different style.

Adine Kirnberg Script font

Adine Kirnberg is a script font that i found in the Internet. It is created by David Rakowski, a type composser (you can file more about himself at that site http://home.earthlink.net/~ziodavino/album1_001.htm). I choose this font to show because it looks like the old font at the Mediavel in Europe. Especially, i like the upper words than the lower (i like the S most). There is a example of Adine Kirnberg:

Video Game Trailer: Onimusha - The Dawns of Dream

This is the trailer of Onimusha: Dawns of Dream that I found from Youtube. Although the video quality is not very good, we can still the design for this game. When i see the trailer, i'm very surprise about the design of its characters. They look nearly the same with movie or better. You can see the cherry blossom fall down from the trees, it looks like the real one. Another good design is the way that the designer create the fire, wind and the human face. I can not be sure that the fire is the movie or the animation.

Three images above are created by letter and i can't imagine that how the artist draw this picture. The first one is a picture of a heart that is created from many words and some words i don't know what they are. The second picture is the word Desire, this is the most impressive picture for me. Although this picture is quite messy and hard to see but it very beautiful and attractive. I think the artist use ink for this picture, some places are so much ink so that we will think that is real words. With the final picture, i thinks this look like a music note, not Q this can be the artist's idea.

Interactive Flash

This week, i have the final assignment in flash (an interactive flash). this is a difficult problem at the beginning. I have already searched for some example about interactive flash and both of them are the my most clearly example. With the first one, the users have to use keyboard to control the character. She can run forward, backward and also jump, climb and fall out. With the second one, you have to use mouse to click on the stars and then the stars will fall out automatically. How many times you click is how many stars will fall.

Fantasy art is one of my favourite arts. This kind of picture give me a mysterious feeling. With this picture, we can see that this book has a strong power that can change all over the world. By using black color as the background, the artist wants to emphasize the power of the book and it makes the book dominant all of the picture. The light that comes from the book makes me think about the life-energy (Mako) in Final Fantasy VII (my favourite series game). It's pure and beautiful, isn't it.

This is the logo in the homepage of the website Pianographique.com. At the first time i go to this website, i was surprised by the way the website is designed. This website is about audiovisual (that idea based on synesthesia - that means "join sensation"), the viewers are not only seen the artwork but also heard the sound (music) and interacted with the visual art. There are two languages that viewers can chose: English and France.

http://www.pianographique.net/datas/inter_uk.php,this is the first second page when viewers enter this website. I think this is the interactive page for people to choose what visualaudio they will see. The article is divided to 3 categories: sound system, continuum and pianorapole. The key idea in this website is that when viewers touch any key in the keyboard, one visual effect will appear and the music will also change to compatible with the visual.

Two pictures are about the sky and we can see that both of them are in the sea. Again these pictures are reflection photograph. There are many feeling that we can have when we stay in the sea and looking at the sky. With cloud and light (may be sun), each person will have different memory coming out. I think that is what the photographer want when he take these images.

At first, I want to ask you a question: what do you think when you look at this picture at the first time? Now, you know it is an abstract picture of fire. With me, it looks like an Arabian dancer is dancing in the middle of the room mysteriously. For moment, I think that is a god of war in India – Shiva. This is a design of American McGee's Alice, a horror film. This DVD cover is very impressive when the first time i see it. By using contrast between brightness and darkness, the artist put a scary feeling and this is very effect with the movie. Another side is the way of the artist to use the font, most of the font is the script font and i can feel that these words are very old. I like the font that he use and the way the he displayed all the font. It is nearly like the font of Lord of the Ring. I have not seen this film but i hope that anyone can lend it to me so i can enjoy it.

All of this photographs are about the nature and in the refection. It look like that we can live in a two worlds: the real world and the mirror world. Both of them are very beautiful and attractive. Reflection also likes the Yin and Yang of China. Another reason why i choose these picture is that they make me feel calm and peace, not many people just only tree water and sky. This is the most beautiful place in the world that i want to be there.

How to create ON/OFF Button in flash

in flash, everyone wants to import music in it so thier flash can be more attractive and interesting. However, sometime, the viewer doesn't want to hear the music because the sound is too lout or they are in public. In this blog, this blog will show how to create a On/Off button in a movie flash. This tutotial belongs to Jajanthi and from website www.enthosweb.com:

To start with, make 2 buttons. 1 for ON and another, for OFF

Next you need to create 2 Movie clips.

* For sound
* For buttons

Okay let's start with the Sound Movie clip

* Create three keyframes.
* Insert stop action to all the keyframes.
* Insert your music into frame1.

NOTE:Keep the loop count of your music fairly an high value and the sync should be at event.
* In frame2 insert the following code,

gotoAndStop(1)

* In frame3 insert the following code,

gotoAndPlay(1);

Now you are through with your Sound Movie clip.

Next, Lets start with the Button Movie clip

* Create 2 keyframes.
* Insert stop actions to both the keyframes.
* Insert OFF button into frame1.
* Select your OFF button and insert the following code,

on (release) {
tellTarget ("../music") {
stopAllSounds();
}
}
on (release) {
nextFrame();
}

* Insert ON button into frame2.
* Select your ON button and insert the following code,

* Insert your Sound Movie clip into your movie and name it "music" in your instance panel.
* Insert your Button Movie clip into your movie.
* Now press ctrl+enter to play your movie.

This video clip is "Apologize" of One Republic. After watching this clip, i am impressed by the way that the director displayed the clip. All of the clip is nearly gone with the song's emotion. Before i talk more about this song, i think we should know this lyric:

At the beginning, the name of the song is written by an ink pen by a special font and i think this font is from 19 century. Through this video clip, you will see more about the way that the director use ink, that's really impressive. I think that the song is the letter from the man in the lyric sended to his girl friend.

One special things in this song is that we don't see the artist face just only the girl who recieves the letter. The director also uses many objects such as a ring, pen with ink and some flowers. At first, everything is normal but after the girl read the letter, they all change to a drak side or become worse. That situation can represent for the emotion of the boy and also the girl. The girl wants to say sorry but it seems to be to late. Finally, everything is broken like the boy's heart and ink looks like the tear from the girl.

"Apologize" is a special video clip that i ever seen befor. I think that you will like and not only the song but also the way that the clip represents.

Photoshop Tutorial Website

My first Icon

This is my icon in the computer. I like the Chineses word so my main idea is get the word meaning my name "wind". With the main part is from China, i put my first letter in English and Vietnamese inside the Chineses letter. It will look like the original Chinese word. I use the main color is red and blue because red represents for sun and blue for sea (from my home town).
