This is my icon in the computer. I like the Chineses word so my main idea is get the word meaning my name "wind". With the main part is from China, i put my first letter in English and Vietnamese inside the Chineses letter. It will look like the original Chinese word. I use the main color is red and blue because red represents for sun and blue for sea (from my home town).

Vry interesting idea of combining the Chinese and the Vietnamese versions of your name! If you can fully exploit the idea it'd be great. Here, I think the color "red" and "blue" and the circle border do not go well with the "Chinese-like" idea. I think "black and white" and brush stroke would give more felling of Chinese. The idea of putting the letters inside the frame of the Chinese word Feng is new. But you should not stop there. You may think about changing fonts, position or style of the letters. You may even write them in an abnormal way. Combine them in an impressive way to make the design more interesting and memorable.
hm, Giang has said alot about your icon...I think the font of latin letters is not match with the rest...especially when you try to express your name in Chinese...maybe u should try to draw it someway to make it more look like "Chinese"...anyway, this is a good idea but you should improve it a little bit ^^
Uhm...In my point of view, your icon also look like a music note ^^

You get inspiration from Chineseand the meaning from your name which is actually a good idea. However why don't you change something to make it more interesting. You can make it look like a breeze or add some image of codes'cause you like computing sience, right:D
PS: Your logo reminds me of your body which is so thin and fragile( like a clothes-hanger hehe)
Like vietle, I think about music note right away when I look at your logo. For suggestion, I think script font doesn't go well with your symbol, something straight and stronger may be more suitable. Another thing, solid color will be better for the background, I think ^^
Hmmm... 5/5 for the idea of combining Engish and Chinese to form a Vietnamese word and 4/5 for the design ^_^
I myself prefer putting the original Chinese letter on the background, with quite low opacity, just to make sure those who don't know anything about Chinese could still understand your original idea, or else people would only think of it as a random combination of letters! =)
